Flying Drones or Model Aircraft at Cotswold Airport...
Cotswold Airport ATZ is within a DRONE FREE ZONE. All drone / UAV permission must be granted by the airport authority before any activity can take place. It is illegal to fly any drone (or model aircraft/helicopter) at any time within the restricted zone unless you have written permission from air traffic control at the airport.

We realise that drone flight is a valuable resource in many industries, therefore, to allow us to make an informed risk assessment we follow a similar process to authorising contractors under the Airport Safety Management System (SMS).
Please be aware in certain circumstances (operating within the airport boundary) we allocate a member of Flight Operations staff to escort and oversee operations; this will attract a charge.
Please contact ops@cotswoldairport.com and supply the following information for us to consider your request:
1: A flight profile detailing areas and heights of the intended flight in relation to the FRZ
2: Risk assessment and Method Statement / Operating Manual
3: CAA issued Flyer and Operator ID
4: Proof of public liability insurance
5: Proof of £10 Million Public liability Insurance, (if you intend to fly within the aerodrome boundary)
We would require this information no less that 48hrs before the intended drone activity, also bear in mind we will not be able to process any requests on a Sunday or Monday.
The following link to the CAA Drone Code will give you additional guidance. https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/where-you-can-fly
